Como ya se ha comentado, existe una abundante literatura sobre aspectos concretos de la gestión de pedidos. En lo que se refiere a sistemas ATP (Available To Promise), existen varios grupos que trabajan en estos temas, destacando el grupo de la Universidad de Maryland, Estados Unidos (liderado por el profesor Ball, ver referencias [5;11;51]) o el grupo de la Universidad de Darmstadt, Alemania, liderado por el professor Stadtler, ver referencia [44]). Por lo que respecta a la selección y aceptación de pedidos, destacan las aportaciones del grupo de la Universidad Estatal de Cleveland, Estados Unidos (liderado por la profesora Slotnick, ver referencias [10;34;42;43]), mientras que las referencias seminales sobre determinación de los plazos de entrega bajo hipótesis deterministas se deben al trabajo del professor Cheng, de la Universidad Politécnica de Hong Kong (ver referencia [12]). Por lo que se refiere al establecimiento de plazos de entrega en el contexto proporcionado por el WLC (Work Load Control), el grupo del profesor Kingsman, de la Universidad de Lancaster en el Reino Unido, ha realizado un buen número de aportaciones al tema (ver referencias [20;28;29;30;45]). Las implicaciones de la flexibilidad en la fijación de fechas de entrega ha sido estudiada por la profesora Keskinocak, de la Georgia Technical University, Estados Unidos [9;25]. Algunas aportaciones en la integración del precio han sido realizadas por el profesor Moodie, de la Michigan Technological University, Estados Unidos ([35;36]). En un plano más empírico, la profesora Parente (Pennsilvania State University, Estados Unidos) ha producido varias aportaciones en lo que se refiere a la necesidad de un sistema integrado de gestión (ver referencias [38;39]).

Por último, el equipo del proyecto ha realizado aportaciones en alguno de los temas tratados anteriormente. Estas son comentadas en el ‘Trabajos Propios’.
